This is the situation Mitch and I found ourselves in during our last trip out to Canmore, and we’re so glad we chose to stay at Lamphouse Hotel.
It is a newly renovated, modern motel experience that embraces its unique design and convenient location, while still celebrating Canmore’s stunning scenery and natural wonders. Lamphouse Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Canmore, and the property is a retreat, as well as a gateway to the great outdoors.

Rooms at Lamphouse Hotel in Canmore
We loved the rooms at Lamphouse Hotel in Canmore and had no issues whatsoever.
Lamphouse’s rooms are designed to be very simple, clean, and modern, and also highly functional. The beds were comfortable and used nice quality bedding and linens, and the artwork was trendy and fun.
Though this hotel is right in the heart of downtown Canmore, we slept well and found the rooms to be quiet and well-insulated. And the Nespresso machine was a nice surprise!
Grab yourself a mountain view room if they’re available – waking up the morning light hitting the mountains was a definite treat!

Lamphouse Hotel’s Queen Suite bedroom have sleeping for two to four guests. It features one Queen bed in the separate bedroom, and a queen pullout memory foam sofa bed in the living room.

Lamphouse Hotel’s upscale apartment sleeps up to 10 people across three bedrooms. It features one queen bed in two of the bedrooms, a queen bunk in the third, and a queen memory foam sofa bed in the living area. There is a south-facing deck, mountain views from all windows, and two and a half bathrooms. The apartment is equipped with a full kitchen, dining area, living area, and washer/ dryer.
One free parking stall per apartment. Minimum age requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older to book apartment. Access to these apartments involves stairs.
Basecamp Resorts is not barrier-free wheelchair-accessible; however, their ground level suites offer easy access and are comfortably spacious. Please contact them directly to inquire about potential limitations.
