Union Station Hotel Nashville

Oh, Union Station Nashville. Ever dreamt of staying inside a bustling 19th-century train station turned into an elegant, luxury hotel? Even if you haven’t, this place is something straight out of a bucket list!

Choosing this hotel as your accommodation will promise you a unique experience that will instill a bit of classic, historical Nashville into your visit! Read on to learn about Union Station Hotel in Nashville and why I recommend it

Disclaimer: Our 3-night hotel stay was kindly sponsored by Union Station Nashville. However, as always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. I will continue to promote only properties, destinations, products and services that I truly believe in 100%, and would wholeheartedly recommend to others.

Union Station Hotel Nashville

I’d be lying if I said my jaw didn’t drop the first time I laid eyes on this hotel. It has an absolutely commanding presence that just kind of takes your breath away.

As soon as my Uber pulled into the driveway of Union Station, it was obvious to me that this was not just any old luxury hotel. The architecture of Union Station is truly breathtaking; it is very obviously a 19th-century train station, but also has a fairytale-esque feel to the entire building!

History of Union Station Nashville:

from https://www.unionstationhotelnashville.com/our-hotel/history:

“Originally built in the year 1900, Union Station served the city of Nashville as a major local train station and epicenter for travel. The imposing Gothic design—complete with turrets and towers—made Union Station an architectural marvel in its day, delighting travelers with its beautiful detailing, including ornate wood carvings, sparkling stained glass, beautiful Italian marble, and soaring ceilings.

As the years passed and times changed, the once heavily trafficked station had begun to fall into obsolescence. After nearly 100 years, a National Historic Landmark designation, and a $15.5 million renovation, Union Station was breathing a new life as Nashville’s newest luxury hotel.”

Elegant, ornate lobby at Union Station Nashville

The car door was opened for me by Diego, a smiling hotel staff who then took my bags and led me into the hotel’s stunning lobby. The space had a soaring 65-foot vaulted ceiling and was filled with vintage stained glass. An ornate chandelier sparkled from the ceiling; modern furniture and decadent decor peppered the lobby.

Check-in was friendly, fast and simple, and my bags were taken to my room for me. The staff here certainly know how to treat a girl!

My adorable room at Union Station Hotel Nashville

My hotel room itself was beyond adorable! Each of the 125 guest rooms and suites at Union Station Nashville feature modern amenities and features, while still also retaining the classic architecture of the building.

Rooms are styled with original commissioned art, remnants of Nashville’s musical history, and trendy design concepts.

The beds were so super comfy, and the view was perfection. Such a cool room – no complaints here!

Union Station Nashville Location:

Address: 1001 Broadway, at the intersection of Broadway and 10th Avenue

This hotel is located in a perfect part of the city –  walking distance from the hustle and bustle of the heart of Music City, but far enough away from the bars that the location is still quiet and relaxing. We walked home every night from Broadway and loved the location of the hotel!

Union Station’s location offers quick and easy access to all that Nashville has to offer. You can walk to Broadway (Honky Tonk Row), the up-and-coming Gulch area, many delicious restaurants, plenty of shopping, cute coffee shops and more!

If you’re heading to The Grand Ole Opry during your visit (and you absolutely must!), it is about a 20 minute drive from the hotel. Click here to read my blog post all about the Grand Ole Opry!

In conclusion, I can easily recommend this hotel for any type of Nashville trip, from a girls’ getaway (like I was here for), to a business trip, to a romantic couple’s vacation, and more. The staff really shine here – service was so outstanding. However, the entire hotel is spectacular in itself and a beautiful example of mixing the old with the new in Nashville.

Staying at Union Station Nashville is a great way to immerse yourself in a little bit of history as you explore all that Nashville has to offer!
