Villa Las Rocas, Puerto Aventuras: If you’re looking for a perfect wedding venue in Mexico to host a small, intimate wedding, your search just might be over!
Mitch and I were recently married at the edge of the Caribbean sea, embraced by the warm Mexican sun and salty sea breeze. Our loved ones gathered under the shade of a massive tree in the villa’s yard as we said “I do”, waves crashing behind us in the sparkling turquoise waters of the Puerto Aventuras coastline.
I can’t imagine a more perfect setting to celebrate a small wedding ceremony than Villa Las Rocas Puerto Aventuras, so I just had to share this gem of a wedding venue with others on the hunt for a wedding venue that is truly unique, beautiful, and intimate.

Where is Villa Las Rocas Puerto Aventuras Located in Riviera Maya?
This beautiful 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom villa is located in upscale and chic Puerto Aventuras, a gated community about 20 minutes south of Playa Del Carmen in Riviera Maya. Puerto Aventuras loosely translates as “Adventure Harbour”, and nearby adventure it absolutely is! This newly-built small town is located across from the island of Cozumel and located North of Akumal and Tulum. Staying here, you’re perfectly situated to explore so many parts of Riviera Maya!
Puerto Aventuras is surrounded by 2 crystal-clear marinas (with dolphins!), and lush jungles. It’s off the typical tourist track and a safe and aesthetic place to celebrate your wedding with its slower and relaxed pace of life.
The villa itself is located in the Las Rocas area of Puerto Aventuras, located right on a rocky coast. And this is one of the things I loved most about the villa, as you’ll never have people walking in front of your photos like you would with a beachfront wedding!
Puerto Aventuras also has fantastic shopping and restaurants in a very walkable town. There is also a beautiful, sandy public beach.
No one will ever forget your wedding at this dreamy venue! PA is overall a fantastic location to spend your wedding celebration, and Villa Las Rocas‘ secluded location is perfect for your intimate ceremony.
About Villa Las Rocas
Villa Las Rocas Puerto Aventuras can comfortably sleep 10 guests, with 4 bedrooms and 6 total beds. Each room has a stunning sea view, air conditioning, and a private bathroom.
And if you need more space, just do what we did and simply rent an Airbnb or hotel close by, which there are plenty of available in Puerto Aventuras. That way, those guests that want more privacy can come and go to the wedding villa as they please, using it as their home base, then retiring for the night when it’s time to sleep.
Of course, the bride and groom absolutely must stay in Villa Las Rocas’ fantastic Master Bedroom! It is absolutely breathtaking, with massive windows looking out to the sea, and a large patio overlooking the swimming pool and crashing waves. It also has a steam shower, and a large jacuzzi bathtub!
I enjoyed a Mimosa in a champagne flute in a warm bubble bath the morning of my wedding, which was glorious.
We also had massage therapists come to our villa the morning of our wedding and provide us with a dreamy couples massage from our master bedroom – it’s that spacious!

The other guest rooms are stunning, too, and all rooms come with comfy beds and high-end linens that match luxury boutique hotel standards. All of our guests were raving about how well they slept during our wedding weekend!
The villa’s pool is incredible. It’s massive and perfectly situated above the rocky coastline, overlooking the sea. From here, you can watch sunrise and sunset, which we often did – and it was breathtaking.
Staying in a villa with a pool in Mexico is brilliant if you’re hoping for the most chill wedding day ever, as we were.
Spending our wedding morning enjoying the sun and sea from the villa’s pool was the best thing ever!
One of my favorite features of the yard is the beautiful big old tree. We sat our guests under the tree for shade during the ceremony (which we decorated), and then got married in front of them with the sparkling sea as our background.
The yard is truly the most incredible wedding ceremony location for a smaller wedding, with stunning panoramic views – I’ll be dreaming about it for years to come.
There is also a bar outside, and a large beautiful picnic table where you can have your wedding dinner.
Inside is a huge dining room table, an incredibly spacious and well-equipped kitchen, and a humongous comfortable couch that can fit everyone.
And I’ll never get over the hallway and staircase. The villa’s huge widows and white and wood color scheme made for the most incredible and dramatic wedding photos!
We felt like we had 3 or 4 different wedding photo locations all within one villa, and didn’t need to leave the property at all during our entire wedding day!
The backyard garden area is beautiful for photos, too. We used this spot for our First Look photo session and our photographer couldn’t stop gushing about the beautiful light and plants in this area!
The rocky beach in front of the villa was absolutely perfect for photos after the ceremony! It was so nice not needing to drive to a different location for wedding photos – everything you need is at the villa!
This is such a unique location with its interesting rocky coastline, and in my opinion, allows for wedding photos much more special than the typical “sandy beach wedding photos” that most people opt for.
You’ll have a blast climbing around the rocky outcrop with your new bride or groom, finding pretty reflections in the pools that collect in the rocks as the waves crash behind you!
To top it all off, both the owner, Cristina, and the property manager, Carlos, are pleasant and kind, with wonderful communication. They will put you at ease and make sure you are so well taken care of so that you can have the wedding you’ve always dreamt about.
Villa Las Rocas Puerto Aventuras is a perfect villa, for a perfect wedding. You’ll never want to leave – I know we definitely didn’t!
