Why Baker Creek Mountain Resort?
Baker Creek is an intimate and incredibly picturesque mountain resort offering the most charming log cabins and lodge suites. Baker Creek features a delicious signature restaurant located on site, a general store, a sauna and steam room, various common area fire pits, and the Heritage Centre events space, ideal for small group meetings and special events from 8-30 people.
Where is Baker Creek Mountain Resort located?
One of my absolute favourite things about my stay at Baker Creek was its perfect location! The resort is situated right in the heart of the wonderland that is Banff National Park, allowing you to enjoy the gorgeous mountain vistas year-round and explore this section of world-famous scenery.
Baker Creek Mountain Resort is located along the absolutely stunning Bow Valley Parkway, just 15 minutes from the village of Lake Louise and about 45 minutes from Banff. This makes it a perfect launching-off point for visiting various parts of the park!
Note: You’re required to purchase a Park Pass to enter Banff National Park. This can be done at the Park Gates, or at the Information Centre in downtown Banff.

A true “Digital Detox” opportunity during your trip to Banff:
At Baker Creek, I encourage you to take advantage of the remote mountain location and go on a bit of a “digital detox”!
There is no cellular (mobile) service on most of the property; however, there is a a payphone available for guest usage so you are not completely disconnected.
There are no televisions or telephones in any of the cabins or lodge suites. Baker Creek does offer their guests complimentary Wifi, however, the WiFi signal is not consistent and you may experience some network latency when using the WiFi based on the signal strength and the number of users.
Enjoy this – sometimes, these forced digital detoxes are just the excuses that you need to disconnect from the world around you during your stay and truly enjoy the spectacular nature around you!
Baker Creek is a Pet-Friendly Cabin Accommodation
Here is yet another thing that I absolutely adore about Baker Creek: they LOVE pets!
Baker Creek has dedicated pet-friendly rooms that can accommodate your dog(s). For $20 extra per pet/night, you get their pet care package, which includes a dog bed, food/water bowls, and treats!
Note: Dogs are required to be on a leash when outside, as the resort is located in bear habitat. No animals are to be left unattended in any guest rooms.
Needless to say, our dogs Lila and Milo absolutely loved their stay at Baker Creek Mountain Resort.
What To Do in the Area: Banff and Lake Louise
There is SO much to do around the area! If you’re able to tear yourself away from the adorable mountain resort, you’ll have so very much to keep yourself occupied.
Here are a few of my recommendations of what to do in the Banff and Lake Louise area:
- Photograph the famous Morant’s Curve: less than a 10 minute drive from Baker Creek!
- Hike Johnston’s Canyon: a 24 minute drive from Baker Creek
- Go ice skating around Banff and Lake Louise: here are some of my favorite places to skate
- Drive the gorgeous Icefields Parkway
- Check out the towns of Banff and Lake Louise
- Go skiing, snowboarding, or tubing at Mount Norquay Ski Resort
